Festive Chicago Holiday Events - Chicago Christmas Crawl 2015
“Eat, Drink, & Be Merry” is the motto of the annual Chicago Christmas Crawl. The 2015 version promises to be just as amazing as past years. What’s it all about? You and your friends old and new get gussied up and don silly holiday-themed headgear (think glittery antlers and fuzzy Santa hats) and costumes. Stroll the streets of Old Town tasting specially prepared food and beverages from 15-20 local vendors. Each will have on hand $3-$7 tasting options for food and drinks. Participants will have a special “holiday plate” for collecting stamps from venues to purchase these “food crawl” specials. What’s on the menu? How about special Italian sandwiches from Orso’s Restaurant, or mouthwatering chicken and waffle bites from Woodie’s? Don’t forget dessert at venues like The Fudge Pot—dee-lish! Other participants include The Fireplace Inn, McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon, Declan’s Irish Pub, Pomp & Circumstance, Suite Lounge and Benchmark.
You’ll be strolling along in the historic North Side of Chicago, home to many of the city’s grand Victorian buildings. These include the Bavarian St. Michael’s Church, which survived the Great Chicago Fire. Other activities along the way include taking photos with special holiday-themed props. At the end of the day, return to your cozy, well-appointed Best Western Grant Park hotel room! Tickets for the Christmas Crawl are $35 plus a small convenience fee. Admission includes a souvenir badge with lanyard, a plush Santa hat or holiday accessory, your “holiday plate” board, a venue food-crawl map, and the chance to win raffle prizes! This is a 21+ event on Saturday, Dec. 12, 10 am. For more information on Chicago Christmas Crawl 2015, visit the official website.
