Be the right kind of flake this holiday season ... Learn how to make tasty, buttery pie crust, create scrumptious fillings, and decorate pies for your Thanksgiving table from Pastry Chef Emeritus Molly Schemper. You'll get hands-on instruction and be able to ask your long-simmering pie related questions. Plus, you'll leave with two ready-to-bake pie varieties for holiday feasts! Choose frome these flavors (classic base + a custom twist) to take and bake: APPLE PIE with one of these custom twists : spiced, streusel topping, peanut butter - caramel PUMPKIN PIE with one of these fancy variations : white chocolate, spiced, cheesecake swirl, graham crust If you have a big family (or just really want to try more than two types of pie) there will be additional pies for sale.  Want to channel your inner Julia Childs? Add a Fiestaware pie dish to arrive in style! It'll be yours to keep, since you'll be a pie pro after this class (eat your heart out, Norman Rockwell).  FAQs What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? FIG is accessible by CTA bus #60 or #18, or a short walk from the 18th St. Pink Line station. On Sunday, metered parking on Blue Island is free and ample.  What should I bring to the event? Nada! We'll have baking supplies for you, including recyclable pie tins or the option to purchase a lovely ceramic pie dish. The class allows you to leave the mess and stress at the FIG kitchen. Will there be snacks? Light refreshments will be available. I am gluten-free. Is this class right for me? While we usually share the love with our gluten-free friends, we won't be covering a gluten-free specialty pie in this class, especially with so much flour flying around the kitchen! I need more pie!
