Located in an area with among the highest poverty and HIV/AIDS rates in Kenya, native Kenyans Teresa Wati and Stephen Juma formed Wema Children's Centre to give poor and orphaned children a home and high quality education. Today at Wema, 532 children are provided with a loving home, three nutritious meals a day, and most importantly, an education at one of the highest performing primary and secondary schools in Kenya. In June 2018, the team discovered that heavy flooding in the area caused both the boys' and girls' latrines to collapse.  Teresa and Stephen have no means of temporary solutions and have been forced to send the children to nearby homes and neighboring schools for bathroom uses.  This has caused an inconvenience in the childrens' studies and has increased the risk of public health problems.   This World Toilet Day (November 19), join Engineers Without Borders at Happy Camper to learn more about Wema Children's Centre and hear more about their efforts to rebuild the latrines in Spring 2019 and their ongoing efforts to design improved water and energy infrastructure to be constructed in late 2019.  Proceeds raised during this event will go directly to the construction of the new latrines in the Spring 2019 trip! ================== Tickets will be sold at the door for $75
