In Wild Women, three goddesses are summoned to bestow their wisdom upon Earth; instead, the heavens send three grotesque female clowns. These bouffons relive their own hilarious, subversive versions of female-driven stories (from Adam & Eve to Cinderella) to help the audience discover their own Wild Woman. The show inspires us to confront our attraction and repulsion to female stereotypes and bodies, and it challenges us to examine the types of stories we tell versus the ones we want to tell. The show is a raucous, hilarious feminist theatrical experience, and it has been popularly and critically acclaimed in all of its iterations, including at last years Edinburgh Fringe Festival. For this last development phase, weve changed over a third of the show, and we would love for you to see it before we launch it out into the universe. We are honored to have received two separate grants from Columbia College Chicago to help this project come to life.
