The location is extraordinary ...

The location is extraordinary at the corner of S Michigan and Grant Park, but the hotel is old and tired and it really shows. However, I would stay here again as it was pretty good value, it was clean and unlike some other hotel chains, the rooms are serviced every day. This isn't modern, or chic or fancy, but if you're on a budget and you want to be in a central location close to some great Chicago amenities, this is a really good choice.

We had an updated ...

We had an updated room on the ninth floor. (The halls still need new carpeting.) Everything was clean and beds were very comfy. The hotel location was great. We walked to the field museum and the aquarium and planetarium were also close by. There was even a Giordano‘s pizza within a few blocks. If you are in good shape, you can walk up to Navy Pier and the Amtrak station is only a bout a 30 minute walk. The only thing lacking was a TV Guide so one could choose some shows to watch after a long day of walking and museum visits.

The interior is a ...

The interior is a little bit shabby, but the room was nice and clean. The location is very good. Breakfast is provided on the basis of 10 usd vouchers. That is not very convenient. Overall impression - good value for the money.

I paid extra for ...

I paid extra for the park view, which was worth the extra price. If you plan on doing this, request a floor at the 6th floor or higher. If you are lower it won't give you much of a view. It is an older hotel, so the elevators can run slow. The $52 a day for valet parking was great, and the hotel is very close to public transportation. I would stay here again.
