Amazing location, right on Michigan Ave in Chicago, very accessible to transportation. A little bit noisy from the street but not that much. The walls are not thin in the rooms which is great. Staff are helpful and kind. The best thing about it is that Paris Baguette was right downstairs. This is the BEST place to have pastries, coffee and breakfast generally. Definitely one of the biggest advantages of Grant Park Hotel. Overall, I had a great experience.

This will always be my first choice hotel in Chicago going forward. I stayed here at the beginning and end of a trip from Mexico to St. Louis. I loved the proximity to Union Station and all the downtown attractions. I asked for a corner room each time, and loved all the windows and the views of tall buildings. The second stay, I also had a refrigerator and microwave, meaning I could order extra lunch and have dinner waiting for me. Check-in was easy and the front desk staff were very friendly and informative. There are two elevators, both in good condition. The rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds and a long desk/dresser. There's a combined heating and A/C unit, which kept the room the perfect temperature all night. My one difficulty was with the small "slope" heading into the bathroom, surely there for wheelchair access--I repeatedly forgot about it and nearly tripped. Finally, I hung a washcloth on the bathroom door handle to remind me. Hope this trick helps someone else! The showers are great, with high water pressure and plenty of hot water. (I appreciated this even more after five months in Mexico.) The provided products smell like warm cinnamon bread, which must be product placement for the bakery downstairs. 😅 I did enjoy a sandwich from the bakery before my visit to the train station, and I also tried breakfast at Mei's, the adjoining dumpling shop, which also serves American-style breakfast. Your room key gets you a discount at each. A lot of the reviews mention street noise, and the elevated rail does go by quite close as well, but none of it kept me awake. I got great sleep here.

Great location for tourist. Museums, Pier, parks, shopping all are walkable or a short uber trip. Valet parking flat rate. The staff is helpful and friendly. There is a cafe/bakery on the main floor- was delicious. The 2 property disappointments are none of the 3 ice machines were operating and the shower in the room left a puddle of water. Obviously the shower curtain is not appropriate for the design of the shower and allows water to drip off the curtain onto the bathroom floor. More towels Please!!!!! The rate per night wasn’t outrageous. Inconveniences?
