Bring earplugs! The room ...

Bring earplugs! The room itself was adequate for a few nights' stay and kept clean, that's the most I can say for it. The West side of the building features multiple annoyances including a 5 AM slam-boom-rattle garbage truck, a loud and piercing "car approaching" alarm multiple times per hour (whenever the garage door opened in the alley), and a rooftop dog relief area used by guests at the Hilton next door. The ventilation and plumbing are loud and the walls are thin. I didn't bring earplugs and slept poorly. Continental breakfast is nothing to write home about. At least there is an outstanding breakfast restaurant that opens at 8 just one block away. Despite these things, and the hotel being a bit rough around the edges in terms of appearance, I might actually pick this hotel again some day because of location and price. I was checking in less than six minutes after a 2-hop train trip from ORD - which was way cheaper (I got a 7 day unlimited CTA pass, no app required, for $25), less hassle and (given the traffic) probably faster than rideshare apps, rental car or taxi service would have been. When I got there, all the basic necessities were working and I felt supported by the room, so it served its purpose.

We stayed for 5 ...

We stayed for 5 nights at this BW Grant Park. The location is probably its most redeeming feature. The rooms can be very noisy . Don't stay on the 9th floor. The air conditioning units are likely on the roof above and it can sound like an airport all night long. Ear plugs or Air Pods are a must. It was hard to get a good night's sleep. Amenities that should be in the room aren't. The condition and cleanliness is quite variable from room to room (we had 2 rooms), so I hope that you get lucky. The front end manager though, Oscar Villasenor, is amazing. But he can't really overcome the issues of an antiquated property. He really tries his best to please. Honestly, a person as capable as him should be working at the Waldorf Astoria Chicago, not a run down BW. Lastly, having Paris Baguette right there was great, as well as Yolk right around the corner. For $200+ per night, the value was below average, unfortunately. Will try somewhere else next time.

This hotel wasn't terrible ...

This hotel wasn't terrible but I really should've looked for a better location. The room we had smelled of mold, the tub clearly was not cleaned properly, when I plugged in my phone to charged it on the lamp, the outlet popped out and gave me quite the shock which then caused the room to have a blackout. (Photos)One lamp with the outlet is by the window which I did NOT use as you can clearly see its LOOSE already & the one lamp by the bed which I used but it popped out. It even has a small burn mark on the lamp where it shocked. I could've seriously gotten hurt. The staff was kind but I won't be coming back.
