I was placed in a corner room on the 5th floor. The room looked recently renovated. It was nice. Being the corner room, two of the four walls were entirely windows, which was nice. Even so, one of them faced the wall of the parking garage next door. Despite appearing recently renovated, closer inspection revealed that most of the renovations were superficial and cosmetic. My primary complaint about the room was the lack of mini-fridge. I've stayed at places that were a lot less nice that had a mini-fridge. What's up with no mini-fridge? In the rest of the hotel, it seemed that the air conditioning didn't work so well. It was pretty warm in the hallways and elevator. The lobby had portable AC units, and it was still kind of warm. Also, these areas of the hotel looked like they could use some renovation. The doors to the elevator had dents where someone might have kicked them. My main and primary problem with my stay at this hotel, however, was noise from outside. Everytime a car left the parking garage next door, an alarm sounded, which I could hear, clearly, in my room. It was loud enough that I couldn't sleep through it. I was woken up many times a night by that alarm. I hardly slept during my stay. I understand this is no fault of the hotel or it's management, but for this reason I would not return.

Overall nice place for a quick stay. We checked in an hour and a half past check in time and it still took an hour to get our room. Parking is walking distance from the hotel. Nice grab and go breakfast in the lobby.

Overall it is an expensive room for the amenities you get and you can hear everything around your room, but its location is great in that it is a half mile walking distance to the aquarium, museum, beach, and for our trip the Manchester United soccer match. The hotels location made life so much easier by allowing us the opportunity to walk back to the hotel from the stadium after the Manchester United match was over... still not a bad walk even though it was pouring down rain. (I thanked my wife about a dozen times for bringing cheap little clear plastic ponchos because it poured a cold rain on a 90 °F day for the entire second half of the match and OF COURSE you can't (and I wouldn't) use an umbrella at the stadium.) (Side note: Our umbrella was was thrown away at security... which we hadn't even used yet (it wasn't for use AT the stadium FYI) but it was a calculated risk)). Do not take an umbrella to the stadium ever!!! So in conclusion to a much too long review that was supposed to take 20 seconds, the Best Western Grant Park Hotel has an awesome location with mediocre quality rooms and amenities, but that location does save some time and money. At least for our experience, if you're wanting a quiet room and you want to spend a good amount of time in your hotel room, then this is not the hotel for you, but if you just want a quality and safe enough place to sleep for the night that is in a great location with quality attractions within walking distance, then I believe that this is a good place for you to stay.
