Overall, you get what ...

Overall, you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a fancy downtown hotel this is not it. I would say however this is a great hotel for the price. The location is near all forms of public transportation. Grant Park and the museum campus are right across the road and easily walkable. There is also a variety of resturaunts, Trader Joes and a Walgreens within a shot walk. You can walk to the city center but it is a hike. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. We were told at check in that there would be no housekeeping, which was ok because we were only there for 2 nights. There was a microwave and small fridge in our room. The hotel stored our lugage for us on our arrival day as our room wasn't ready yet and we wanted to explore. Breakfast was a grab and go. There were juice containers, coffee, and a variety of granola/cereal bars, muffins and fruit. Nothing fancy, but it worked great for our family.

Shout out to Tracy, ...

Shout out to Tracy, a very helpful employee at the front desk. All the others were very friendly as well. Nothing fancy as a hotel, but clean enough and very handy and walkable.

The location is great ...

The location is great for being so close to the field museum and the parks near by. A wonderful and scenic walk to the millineum park. The service is great. We were greeted at the door with a smile and helped generously with with our Valay parking. The rooms are neatly done. The rooms however, need updating. The 3rd floor balcony was closed off. They are doing construction there at the moment. Back to the condition of the room. The paint is peeling, the floors are sticky, the beds are small and no extra bedding was in the room for the fold out couch. The breakfast is small, not complaining. As long as there's coffee. Everything was a walking distance. For the price I paid for the room, not worth it. Too much for for how nasty and small it was. But the service surpassed the room condition, which is why I gave it the rating. Thank you.
