The staff was nice, but the rooms were small and when we were supposed to have 2 queen beds, the beds were full size. The lighting was horrible for putting on makeup and the paint in spots was peeling. They also ran out of coffee supplies on our last day there.

Found a great online ...

Found a great online price for two nights. Location is great, especially for warm weather, being right across from Grant park. However, be mindful during winter stays that the best, more frequent transportation is a couple blocks away (bus). Closest subway stop is about a 10 min walk. The hotel itself is like your baseline, rudimentary hotel. There were probably updates years ago but there are small things that need to be looked after. #1, if you need a bathtub--make sure you specifically request that or you will end up with shower only. The curtains in my room were starting to shred. There was a questionable "stain" on the side of the nightstand. And there seemed to be some type of leaf residue on my fabric desk chair (which also was broken and could not adjust). Had to jiggle the lamp/alarm clock plugs on that same nightstand to get them to work. No fridge. Stopper in the tub was broken so that it had to come all the way off the stem so that it didn't plug the tub. I also found the mattresses WAY too soft for my taste. Also my room had 2 double beds. The one nearest the window was really close to the air conditioner so heat/cold air blows DIRECTLY onto the bed. There are no adjustable vents on the unit! However, I travel alone...don't have a lot of requirements other than a safe, quiet place to sleep and that is what I got. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. I can't speak on the continental breakfast since I didn't partake. Be mindful that as of this writing, they still have covid protocols in place so maid service is not everyday (which I loved because I didn't want to be disturbed). Front desk will take care of you if there are any needs.
